Oct 14, 2019 Mac OS Mojave (10.14) is compatible with AnyConnect 4.7.04056 and below. Licensing Structure - Firmware versions 1.0.3.15 and later. As of March 2019, server licenses using AnyConnect version 1.0.3.15 and later are no longer required. Now you will need only a client license to download and use the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client. A client license enables the VPN functionality. Hey guys, I tried to install cisco anyconnect on Mac with 64-bit kernel but failed. The problem is that TUN.KEXT from Cisco is a 32-bit kernel extension which is not compatible with 64-bit kernel that my Mac runs with. Has anyone come across this.
University of Illinois students, faculty, and staff can use these directions to set up their Mac OS X computers or devices to connect to the Virtual Private Network (VPN).
If you have a guest account, Technology Services recommends IllinoisNet Wireless for on-campus use. Contact your host for help downloading and installing the VPN if you need guest access for off-campus use.
Quick Start
Download the Mac VPN installation package from WebStore.
Install the software with administrator privileges.
VPN server: vpn.cites.illinois.edu
Username: Your NetID (or, if you're a guest, your guest ID)
Password: Your Active Directory password (or, if you're a guest, your guest password)
Group: 1_SplitTunnel_Default (Note: This is the most common choice. See About VPN Profiles for information about the alternatives, such as Tunnel All for access to Library and WebStore resources.)
Detailed instructions are provided below.
Downloading the VPN software
Download the Mac VPN installation package from the WebStore.
Save the file at an easily findable location, such as your desktop.
Installing the VPN software
Go to the location where you saved the VPN installation package.
Double-click on the .pkg file.
The AnyConnect Installer will launch. Click Continue.
Accept the End User License Agreement (EULA) when prompted: First click Continue, then Agree.
When given a choice of which packages to install, select only the VPN item and click Continue.
The installer will estimate how much space is needed. Click Install.
You'll be prompted that Installer is trying to install new software. NOTE: This prompt is not asking for your NetID; it asks for your local user name and password on that specific computer.
Enter your local user name.
Enter your local computer password.
Click Install Software.
After the software is installed, you'll receive the message 'The installation was successful'. Click Close.
After installation is complete, your Applications folder will have a new Cisco subfolder containing the AnyConnect VPN.
Starting the software
After you've completed downloading and installing, the Cisco AnyConnect VPN software will be installed in the Application folder's Cisco folder.
Logging in
When you launch the Cisco AnyConnect client, you'll be prompted to enter the VPN server you wish to connect to.
Enter vpn.cites.illinois.edu.
Click Connect.
When the connection process begins, you'll be asked for three pieces of information.
Group: 1_SplitTunnel_Default (Note: This is the most common choice. See About VPN Profiles for information about the alternatives, such as Tunnel All for access to library resources.)
Username: Your NetID (or, if you're a guest, your guest ID)
Password: Your Active Directory password (or, if you're a guest, your guest password)
Click on the AnyConnect VPN icon in your task bar.
In the window that appears, click Disconnect.
Troubleshooting and the Statistics window
The Cisco AnyConnect VPN client gathers information that can help you with troubleshooting speed or connectivity issues. It may be helpful to open the Statistics window while troubleshooting with the Help Desk.

Click the graph icon toward the lower left corner of the VPN window.
Choose among the tabs as directed to help your Help Desk consultant with troubleshooting.

This guide will assist with the installation of the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client for OS X 10.6 and later
You need administrator level account access to install this software.
Note: Some screen shots may be slightly different from what you see depending on the version of your operating system and the VPN software.
Installation
Cisco Anyconnect For Mac 64 Bit
Download the VPN installer from MIT's download page, Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client for MAC (certificates required).
Find and open the downloaded file.
The file will mount a disk image. Open this disk image and launch the file named 'anyconnect-macosx-XXXXXX'.
On the following screen titled Welcome to the AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client Installer, click Continue.
When presented with the software license agreement, click Continue then click Agree on the slide-down menu.
If you are prompted 'Select a Destination..', select your primary hard drive and click Continue.
On the window titled Standard Install.., click the button labeled Install and enter your computer username and password when prompted and click Install Software. Note: The user must be an administrator of the machine to install. Result: The VPN client will begin to install itself.
When the installation has competed, click the button labeled Close.
Initiating a Connection to VPN and to VPN using Duo
Cisco Anyconnect For Mac Os Download
Cisco AnyConnect can be found in the Cisco folder located in the Applications folder (/Applications/Cisco/).
Navigate to /Applications/Cisco/ and open 'Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client'.
To authenticate with Duo, enter vpn.mit.edu/duo and click the button labeled Connect.
Enter your MIT username and password then click the button labeled OK. With Duo authentication, you will see a field asking for a Second Password. In this field you may type in one of the following options:
push - Duo will send a push notification to your registered cell phone with the Duo Security mobile app installed
push2 - Duo will send a push notification to your _second registered device with the Duo Security mobile app installed_
sms - Duo will send an SMS to your registered cell phone
Phone -Duo will call your registered phone
Phone2 -Duo will call your second registered phone
Yubikey - If you are using a Yubikey for authentication, make sure the Second Password field is highlighted and use your key. For instructions on using the Yubikey, please see How do I authenticate with a YubiKey?
The one time code generated by your hardware token or the Duo Security mobile app (the code changes every 60 seconds) In this example, I entered 'push' in the Second Password field. I will receive a push notification on my cell phone, go to the Duo app and click Approve.
When prompted at the MIT's Virtual Private Network (VPN) screen, click the button labeled Accept to connect to MIT's Virtual Private Network.
Upon successful connection, Cisco AnyConnect will minimize itself and you will see the AnyConnect logo with a small lock in your menu bar just to the left of the time.
